My Film Bucket List

I just posted this at the DVD Profiler Forums... I guess I'll share it here for the 2 of you that visit... comment with your if you like.

As in the 2007 movie, I have a bucket list, a film bucket list. This is my top 10 films I would like to see before I die:
1) The Day The Clown Cried (1972) - I would pay any $ to see this film. I really really really want to just watch it, not own it, just watch it... Mr. Jerry Lewis if you see this, Please, I promise I wont tell anyone
2) Back To The Future (1985) - The Eric Stoltz footage... the rumor is there is 30+ minutes of produced footage and nearly the whole movie of rough footage. Just let me see.
3) The Man Who Killed Don Quixote (2000ish) - I know Terry Gilliam did not finish this but I wanna know; Was it funny like Holy Grail, trippy like Time Bandits, dark like 12 Monkeys, or just ok like Brothers Grim...
4) Fear and Desire (1953) - We all know the story that Kubrick tried to have all prints destroyed. We know that Kodak owns the master. We know there are crappy bootlegs... but come on... I love Kubrick's work and he has been dead long enough... someone at Kodak needs to work with WB and give us a DVD copy.
5) Disney's Song of the South (1946) - I have seen it... the bootleg version on all torrent sites but a DVD release would be nice.
6) Rad (1986) - I own an original VHS, I have a copy on my ipod (about as good as the VHS) but I really want a DVD with commentary, reunion, Where are they now... and maybe modern day BMXers interviews on how it influenced them.
7) Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park (1978) - It is best said on Wikipedia: "Previously, availability was limited to two brief VHS releases in the 1980s and a laserdisc release in 1991. In 2005, Cheezy Flicks attempted to release the film on DVD, but due to legal issues, the disc was quickly pulled." I have a VHS scan...
8) Inchon (1982) - Said to be the worst movie ever... SO why has this never been released on VHS or Laser Disc, or DVD... There are Fan sites... People love the worst of.... Remember the song "Barbi Girl", people paid for that... Let us see Inchon in all its glory.
9) The Legend of Billie Jean (1985) & The Dirt Bike Kid (1985) - I put them together... but lets face it... The 80s gave us GREAT bad cinema... I mentioned I wanted Rad... I have been lucky enough to see the releases of Breakin', The Monster Squad, Eddie and the Cruisers, and soon Howard The Duck... add The Legend of Billie Jean and The Dirt Bike Kid (both released on VHS only) to that list of 80s DVDs!
10) Lastly, a real, high quality release of the carrer of 'Iron' Mike Tyson. Owned mostly by King Productions, it is a gold mind. I would pay $50ish for a 3-5 disk set of the Mike Tyson PPVs. I have 2 VHS tapes of about 8-10 fights... I can watch them anytime.

The Rocking Horse Winner

Band: The Rocking Horse Winner
Album: Horizons (2002) Equal Vision Reords
Myspace: The Rocking Horse Winner
Download: Link
Sounds Like: Paramore+Dashboard Confessional, Sense Feild
Genre: Emo, Pop Rock
Why: See my Popvert post

ALSO:
The Rocking Horse Winner - State Of Feeling Concentration (2001) Ohev Records
Download: Link

Popvert - Infidelity Park (2008)

Band: Popvert
Album: Infidelity Park
Myspace: Popvert
Sounds Like: CSS but not as sexual.
Download: Link
Genre: Electro, New Wave, Pop, Synth
Why: Jolie Lindholm is the singer... now let me explain, Michelle (my girlfriend) and I were driving the other day with my ipod on shuffle. A Dashboard Confessional song from Swiss Army Romance came on (that album featured miss Lindholm on back-up vocals). So then I asked Michelle if she heard Jolie's band Rocking Horse Winner (yes, named after the book), they were an emo band with Jolie on vocals... so, i had to look into what happened to Rocking Horse and Miss Lindholm. Unfortenatly Rocking Horse is no more but here is Jolie's new band with a mighty fine Careless Whispers cover too.

Best Show on TV: Eastbound & Down

TV Show: Eastbound & Down
When: Sunday nights at 10:30pm
Channel: HBO (available On Demand)
Web Link: HBO: Eastbound & Down... send your friend a voice mail from Danny Mcbride (Kenny Powers), download baseball cards, and watch videos.
My favorite quotes: Episode 1: "For your information I have full size balls", "Can I wear the scream mask, the mask from scream, when i do your from behind", "Hey, I don't mean to break up the good time here, but... I just saw two boys raping a sixth grader... Just kidding", and "I'm not gonna stop yelling because that will mean i lost the fight"
Why: From the makers of Foot Fist Way... Starring Danny Mcbride... and produced by the FunnyOrDie.com team... This show will not last long... it is too funny and rough for tv even HBO (they recorded 13 episodes). The show is great, non-stop funny. Very rated R. Watch it now before it offends some group and gets kicked off tv.

Big news for MMA fans (women's divisions)

News:
- The W.A.M.M.A. will start to rank female fighters as of this month. In 3 weight classes. This means we may see Gina Carano, Kim Couture, and others fighting again.
- Gina Carano vs. Cyborg fight might happen on April 11th at Strikeforce 17 (Frank Shamrock vs. Nick Diaz), as Strikeforce bought up what was left of EliteFX (following the Kimbo Slice loss).
- Gina Carano (as all EliteFX fighters) is a free-agent and can sign with Strikeforce.
Why: W.A.M.M.A. is slowly becoming the most respected ranking system for MMA (Bodog at second). If the woman's ranking is taken seriously it could spark the big promotions (UFC and Affliction) to add female fighters. Strikeforce is the only major promotion (with a Pay Per View contract) that has woman fighters.

ABOVE THE BONES - Mishka

I am un-patiently waiting for this cd to make its way on-line... it is on I Tunes now and in stores this Tuesday.

Cucumber flavored Pepsi!? I wanna try it!

I WANNA TRY THEM!
What: The 3 flavors above are:
Pepsi Ice Cucumber - a clear cola with a hint of chilled cucumber
Pepsi Blue Hawaii - a pineapple and lemon flavored soda
Pepsi White - Pepsi with yogurt flavor
Why: I like strange sodas (I try the Jones holiday flavors every year) but the flavors above are out of print and were only available in Japan. For a full list of Pepsi flavors (remember Pepsi Kona? or Pepsi Clear?) check out this.

Shepard Fairey vs. A.P.

I have been a fan of artist Shepard Fairey for mucho years now... I have supported the Obey Giant campaign and his projects since... so yesterday I got a text from my boy Nick saying Fairey was arrested... but if you follow the carrer of Fairey... well... he is/was a graffiti artist and has been arrested for that in the past. Fairey has an art exhibit in Boston this week and apperently there were 2 warrents out for his arrest for prior tagging. Read the A.P. report here.

Interestingly enough while researching this topic an hour ago, the A.P. also reported this. The A.P. is after Fairey for the use of the Obama image (an A.P. owned image) and making it the world famous "HOPE" art. Well, Shepard is after the mighty A.P. for threats and such.

Besides being a fan of Shapard Fairey, I am highly interested in the battle of ownership of art. While I respect the photographer, I believe that Fairey changed the image and in that making the "HOPE" print his ownership. I see this as the same as the Campbell's Soup Cans, art produced in 1962 by Andy Warhol.

We will see how this plays out in the next few days.

Check out Shepard Fairey's work at: Obey Giant

Know when movies leak online: VCD Quality

Link: VCD Quality
Why: You will not find any downloads at VCD Quality! What you will find is the date a film leaked on-line, the type of rip (Cam, Telesynch, screener, dvd-rip...), The quality of the video and audio, and team that ripped it. The web site also has links to IMDB and screen shoots. A needed web site if you plan to download movies.

From Behind These Walls - Demos

Band: From Behind These Walls
Album: Demos (3 songs including Listen Up)
Myspace: From Behind These Walls
Sounds Like: Escape The Fate (because its the ex-ETF singer Ronnie Radke)
Genre: The "It" sound... you know, post-hardcore-style
Link: Download
Why: It's popular and might get me some hits... :P... "Listen Up" is ok tho... I have it on my ipod. But also because the Escape The Fate & Ronnie Radke story has become the punk rock reality soap opera of 2008. Also... how clever is a band name like Behind These Walls when you record your vocals while in prison.

My Turn To Win - Weight Of The World

Band: My Turn To Win
Album: Weight of the World
Myspace: My Turn To Win
Sounds Like: Snapcase, Mouthpiece, Pantera
Genre: Hardcore... im talking true East Coast Hardcore... not A.P. or MTV Hardcore
Link: Download
Why: I found this band by accident while searching for the Mouthpiece cd... and damn... they are the definition off East Coast Hardcore in the style of Snapcase, Strife, Earth Crisis, Mouthpiece, and such.

Liam And Me - Jam Now Session

Band: Liam And Me
Album: Jam Now Sessions (live 2007)
Myspace: Liam And Me
Sounds Like: Killers, Forever The Sickest Kids, Hellogoodbye
Genre: Pop, Synth Rock, Indie
Link: Download
Track Listing:
1) Say It Out Loud
2) Pretender
3) Fast As You Can
4) Who Do You Think You Are
5) Pretty Black Dress
6) Theres A Difference
7) I Thought You Knew
8) Call The Cops
9) Don't Say A Word
Why: This is the closest thing we have to an album by Liam And Me. It is a high quality (no crowd noise) live recording from 2007. They are a popular local (NJ/Philly).

#1 for ipod hacking: ipod Wizard

Link: ipod wizzard
WHY: If you know me then you know I like to hack/mod my electronics. This includes my ipods. I have been a member of this website since 2005 and if you want to mod your ipod this is the first site you should check out. ipodwizzard.net

Mouthpiece - Can't Kill What's Inside: The Complete Discography (2009)

Band: Mouthpiece
Album: Can't Kill What's Inside: The Complete Discography

Myspace: Mouthpiece

Sounds Like: Snapcase, Lifetime, Cheapshot

Genre - Hardcore, Straight Edge

Why: The best hardcore band from NJ ever and because of this pic of them from '92:

Fresh Start

I am starting over... again... for like the 3rd time or so... This time the blog is just a mirror or journal. Yes, I will post links to music I like but that is not what this blog will be ALL about.
